Make classic Italian meatballs quickly and with less oil using your air fryer. These meatballs are juicy inside and slightly browned outside.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef and pork mix (50/50)
  • 1/2 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooking spray (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, milk, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined; do not overmix.
  2. Roll the mixture into uniform balls, about 1.5 inches in diameter. You should get about 18 to 20 meatballs.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
  4. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray if you are concerned about sticking.
  5. Place the meatballs in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch. Work in batches if necessary.
  6. Air fry for 10 minutes.
  7. Carefully flip the meatballs. Continue to air fry for another 4 to 6 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Total cook time is usually 14 to 16 minutes.
  8. Remove the air fryer Italian meatballs from the basket. Serve immediately with sauce or as an appetizer.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can lightly brush the meatballs with olive oil before air frying, although this is not required for cooking.
  • If you prefer a crispier texture, cook the meatballs in a single layer and increase the final temperature to 400°F (200°C) for the last 2 minutes.
  • These meatballs can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days before cooking.
