A delightful flatbread featuring sweet caramelized figs, tangy goat cheese, and a balsamic glaze. Perfect as an appetizer or a light meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made flatbread or pizza crust
  • 1 cup fresh figs, halved or quartered
  • 4 oz goat cheese, crumbled
  • 2 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh thyme sprigs for garnish (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place the flatbread on a baking sheet.
  3. Brush the flatbread with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Arrange the fig pieces evenly over the flatbread.
  5. Sprinkle the crumbled goat cheese over the figs.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is softened.
  7. Drizzle with balsamic glaze.
  8. Garnish with fresh thyme if desired.
  9. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can caramelize the figs separately in a pan with a little butter and sugar for a richer flavor before placing them on the flatbread.
  • A drizzle of honey can be used instead of balsamic glaze for a sweeter profile.
  • Consider adding a sprinkle of arugula after baking for a peppery contrast.
