- 2 thick slices brioche bread
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar (optional, for dusting)
- Place a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Add the butter to the skillet and let it melt until it foams slightly.
- Place the two slices of brioche bread into the melted butter.
- Sprinkle half of the chocolate chips evenly over the top surface of each slice of bread.
- Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the bottom side is golden brown.
- Carefully flip the brioche slices. The chocolate chips should now be on the bottom, melting into the butter.
- Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until the second side is golden brown and the chocolate chips are fully melted and gooey.
- Remove the toast from the skillet. Dust with sugar, if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra richness, dip the brioche slices lightly in an egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon milk) before placing them in the skillet.
- Use dark or milk chocolate chips based on your preference.
- Serve this toast with a side of fresh berries or a dusting of powdered sugar.
