- 1.5 lb Brussels sprouts
- 3 Tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
- Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any loose outer leaves. Cut the sprouts in half lengthwise.
- Place the halved sprouts in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss well until all sprouts are coated.
- Spread the sprouts in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Do not overcrowd the pan; use two sheets if necessary for maximum crispiness.
- Roast for 15 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the oven. Sprinkle the minced garlic evenly over the sprouts. Toss gently.
- Return the pan to the oven and roast for another 10 minutes.
- Remove the pan again. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the sprouts.
- Return to the oven and roast for a final 5 to 7 minutes, or until the cheese is golden brown and the sprouts are tender-crisp.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Drying the sprouts thoroughly with paper towels before oiling helps them crisp up better.
- For extra crispiness, use the highest oven rack position for the last 5 minutes of cooking.
- If you prefer an air fryer method, cook at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-15 minutes, tossing halfway, then add cheese and cook for 2 more minutes.
