Make this easy, cheesy ground beef pizza casserole for a satisfying weeknight dinner that tastes just like your favorite pizza.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (15 ounce) jar pizza sauce
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen tri-color rotini pasta
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup mini pepperoni slices

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir the pizza sauce, water, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper into the skillet with the beef. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  4. Add the dry rotini pasta directly into the sauce mixture. Stir well to coat all the pasta.
  5. Pour the entire mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese, provolone cheese, and pepperoni evenly over the top.
  9. Return the dish to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the pasta is tender.
  10. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add 1/2 cup of chopped onion or green pepper when browning the ground beef.
  • You can substitute the rotini with penne or mostaccioli pasta.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, reduce the added water to 1/2 cup.
