Ingredients
Scale
1 cup milk (whole milk makes it creamiest)
1 packet hot cocoa mix (about 1 ounce)
1 cup ice cubes
Whipped cream and chocolate curls for topping (optional)
Instructions
Gather your three main ingredients: milk, hot cocoa mix, and ice cubes.
Place the milk, hot cocoa mix, and ice cubes into your blender.
Secure the lid and blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and thick, resembling a frosty shake. This usually takes about 30 to 60 seconds.
Pour the creamy frozen hot chocolate immediately into two glasses.
Top each serving generously with whipped cream and a sprinkle of chocolate curls, if you are using them. Serve right away.
Notes
For an even richer, copycat Panera-style treat, substitute half the milk with chocolate milk or add one tablespoon of chocolate fudge sauce before blending.
If your blender struggles with the ice, let the ice sit out for two minutes before blending, or add a splash more milk.
This recipe is kid friendly and makes a great afternoon pick-me-up on hot summer days.
