Ingredients
Scale
2 cups pureed fruit (e.g., strawberries, mango, apple)
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, to taste)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to the lowest setting, around 170°F (75°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
In a bowl, combine your pureed fruit, lemon juice, and sweetener if using. Mix well.
Pour the fruit mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread it evenly into a thin layer, about 1/8 inch thick.
Bake for 4-8 hours, or until the fruit leather is no longer sticky to the touch and peels easily from the parchment paper. The exact time will depend on your oven and the thickness of the leather.
Once cooled, carefully peel the fruit leather from the parchment paper.
Cut into strips or shapes as desired.
Roll up the fruit leather strips and store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
Notes
You can use any combination of fruits you like.
Ensure the fruit puree is smooth for even drying.
Avoid over-baking, which can make the fruit leather brittle.
For a chewier texture, bake for a shorter time. For a crispier texture, bake longer.
