Make a refreshing, sweet iced brown sugar oatmilk latte at home using a simple homemade syrup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 shots espresso (about 2 ounces) or 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee concentrate
  • 1 cup oat milk, chilled
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Make the brown sugar syrup: Combine the brown sugar and water in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar fully dissolves. Do not boil. Remove from heat and let it cool completely. This makes extra syrup.
  2. Measure 2 tablespoons of the cooled brown sugar syrup into a tall glass.
  3. Pour the espresso or strong coffee concentrate over the syrup in the glass. Stir briefly to combine the coffee and syrup.
  4. Fill the glass completely with ice cubes.
  5. Pour the chilled oat milk over the ice and coffee mixture.
  6. Stir well before drinking to distribute the sweetness evenly.

Notes

  • If you do not have an espresso machine, use 1/4 cup of very strong, cooled coffee concentrate for the best flavor.
  • For a colder drink, chill your oat milk beforehand.
  • You can adjust the amount of syrup based on your preferred sweetness level.
  • Store leftover brown sugar syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
