Assemble this simple, hearty casserole using frozen pierogi, smoked sausage, and a creamy cheese sauce for an easy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (12 ounce) package smoked kielbasa sausage, sliced
  • 1 (12 ounce) package frozen potato and cheese pierogi
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon dried onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced kielbasa, frozen pierogi, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir gently until everything is evenly coated.
  3. Spread the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the mixture.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and heated through.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese over the top. Let it sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute cream of chicken soup for cream of mushroom soup if you prefer.
  • For a richer flavor, use smoked andouille sausage instead of standard kielbasa.
  • If you want a crispier top, place the dish under the broiler for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
